Outlook PST file is the store house of MS Outlook application
where it keeps the complete important data including Calendars, Mails, Tasks, and
Contacts etc. Because of the Importance of data, mostly outlook users protects
the PST file with the help of a suitable password. The protection is required
but sometime it may place you in a critical situation if you have forgets the
password of Outlook PST file. Here in this article we are going to discuss some
easiest ways of removing the password from your Outlook PST file.
This can be done by using the pst19upgrade tool that is
developed by Microsoft. The software was developed to upgrade the older version
of PST file so that one can use it with the latest versions of outlook. Along
with that this tool also removes the password from PST file and hence can be
used to recovery PST password
Important Note:
The pst19upgrade software will not work with the latest version
of outlook PST file i.e. you cannot use this application with the Latest
Outlook editions (Outlook 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007 or 2003). This tool
only supports ANSI PST file that was created in the previous versions of
Outlook 2003. To remove password from this application you have to go with a
suitable PST password recovery application. Based on my personal experience I would
love to suggest MailsDaddy PST Password Remover for this purpose. The
application can Reset and Remove password from PST file.
How to Recover and Remove PST password using pst19upgrade tool
The pst19upgrade tool requires the support of scanpst.exe to
remove password from PST file. The procedure of removing and recovering PST
file password is explained here:

Close Microsoft Outlook. Create a backup copy of PST file that
can be used if something wrong happens
§
Run scanpst.exe and Browse the PST file, and choose Repair
option.
§
Open CMD and run the command:
C:\My Documents\pst19upg.exe”
-x outlook.pst
outlook.pst is the name of your Outlook PST file. This command
will create PST file copy with the same name.
§
Rename the original copy of PST file like old.pst
§
Again Run the command in CMD:
C:\My Documents\pst19upg.exe”
-i outlook.pst
§
This will recover the password from PST file
§
Again run Scanpst.exe and repair the PST file
This process will remove password
from PST file.
